These celebrations support traditional Native American culture, through programs such as youth adopting elders and making them special gifts, and bring joy to families through toy drives, screenings of family films, healthy meals, and more.

American Indian children growing up on the Reservation must face a difficult life of poverty and geographic isolation. Yet, we are always amazed at how these young people face their circumstances with dignity and vitality.
Running Strong believes it is important to let these children know they are not forgotten, especially during the holiday seasons.
From the beginning, we have offered support to festivities that bring together children, elders and families for activities such as traditional meals, stories, and songs.
Running Strong writes annual grants to support holiday celebrations across Indian country.
